The Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain (IPCE) is a Subdirectorate General attached to the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. Its mission is the research, conservation and restoration of the properties that make up the Cultural Heritage.
This is a complex task that the IPCE addresses from a multidisciplinary perspective, through its staff: architects, archaeologists, ethnographers, restorers, physicists, geologists, chemists, biologists, documentalists, computer scientists, librarians, archivists and curators, among others.
In this way, the General State Administration, together with the rest of the Public Administrations, fulfils a task that emanates from the social commitment, of a constitutional nature, for the preservation and enrichment of Cultural Heritage.
